Recon - Dread's Dark net Market Search Engine
4.8 (5 Votes)
Recon is a new market/vendor data aggregator service and a cross-marketplace search engine. It allows you to see and look up data on multiple established darknet markets from one single modern and functional interface. It achieves this by using market data archives collected previously, as well as by developing APIs for active markets to integrate into their platforms. Markets that implement Recon's API will automatically send listings updates to Recon every 24 hours, whereas vendors and feedbacks updates will occur every 72 hours.
Recon's user interface is very similar to Dread's in terms of themes. It's fairly simple and straightforward to use. The homepage shows a top bar with three main sections: Search (which is the homepage itself), Vendors and Markets. On the same homepage, a search box is visible where one can search for products from various markets. A robust search filters option exists as well to help narrow down search results. One can use the filters function to specify the market from which he wants to see results, the shipping country, and lastly the price range.
Clicking on the Vendors section on the top bar, you'll be presented with two search boxes. One box is used for looking up vendors by their names, while the other one is for looking up vendors by their public PGP keys.
Even though Recon is fairly new, it has already gained plenty of traction and many giant dark net markets have already integrated the API into their systems. The main reason for this is that Recon is part of the Dread Network. On Recon you can find tons of information on markets, vendors, products and much more. The aim is to help newcomers find their way through the ever increasing number of markets and vendors.
For every market listed on Recon you can see its listings count, vendor records, uptime, different mirrors, PGP key, and reviews and ratings submitted by Recon users. One can also search individual vendors and see in which markets they serve, as well as their PGP keys, listings across markets and feedbacks. This also helps vendors in surviving markets exit scams by keeping their reach intact. Moreover, vendors can sign up on Recon and claim their already existing profiles, given they prove their identities with their PGP keys. They can then use the platform to post announcement to their customers.
Finally, one can also search for products on Recon and results will be displayed from the multiple listed marketplaces. When clicking on one of the search results, Recon will neatly redirect you to the product's page on its respective darknet market.
In a relatively short amount of time, Recon has aggregated data of more than 20k vendors, 58k listings and 1.4m reviews. We think Recon is going to be a game changer. It's taking the darknet markets space to a whole new level.
